Can I bring my child's sibling along?
Yes, of course you can bring your child's sibling along even if they are not participating in the study. There is a play area at the lab so if there is an extra available researcher they can watch your child there while you and your baby complete the testing. Otherwise, the sibling can also accompany you both to the testing room and watch the testing process from a screen outside the sound booth.
How long do the studies usually take?
Depending on the study, the experiment itself usually takes anywhere between 5-15 minutes after which we have a language questionnaire which takes anywhere between 10-30 minutes. We usually schedule for 30 minutes to 1 hour long appointments in case you need to feed or change your baby.
Is there any compensation for taking part in the studies?
Unfortunately, our funding does not allow us to compensate the participants, but we are very thankful for your contribution to our research and will be happy to reimburse you for your transportation (bus, metro) or parking.
Is there parking space & a metro station nearby?
Yes, there is a parking garage just underneath our building and the lab is located at a 5 minutes walking distance from metro McGill, we will send you more details about how to access it from the street when we schedule you in for a study.

Est-ce que je peux amener le frère ou la soeur de mon enfant?
Oui, bien sûr, vous pouvez emmener le frère ou la soeur de votre enfant même s'il ne participe pas à l'étude. Il y a une aire de jeu au laboratoire, donc s'il y a un chercheur supplémentaire disponible, il peut surveiller votre enfant pendant que vous et votre bébé effectuez les tests. Sinon, le frère ou la soeur peut également vous accompagner dans la salle d’essai et regarder le processus d’essai à partir d’un écran situé à l’extérieur de la cabine de son.
Combien de temps prennent habituellement les études?
Selon l’étude, l’expérience elle-même prend généralement entre 5 et 15 minutes, après nous avons un questionnaire linguistique qui prend entre 10 et 30 minutes. Nous prévoyons généralement des rendez-vous de 30 minutes à 1 heure au cas où vous auriez besoin de nourrir ou de changer votre bébé.
Existe-t-il une compensation pour la participation aux études?
Malheureusement, notre financement ne nous permet pas de rémunérer les participants, mais nous sommes très reconnaissants de votre contribution à nos recherches et serons heureux de vous rembourser vos frais de transport (bus, métro) ou de stationnement.
Y a-t-il de stationnement et une station de métro à proximité?
Oui, il y a du stationnement intérieur juste en dessous de notre bâtiment et le laboratoire est situé à 5 minutes à pied du métro McGill. Nous vous enverrons plus de détails pour savoir comment se rendre au laboratoire lorsque nous vous programmons pour une étude.
